Forged from 52100 high carbon steel heat treated in my Evenheat kiln to Rc 58-60 with three normalizing and two tempering cycles producing a fine grain structure throughout the blade.
Flat grind with forged texture on the flats
Full distal tapered tang
The stabilized handle is an unknown species because it was part of a trade but it is extremely hard. My guess is that it is spalted hickory.
The hatchet style handle is very comfortable in the hand
Overall length: 13 inches
Blade: 8 inches
Thickness at the spine near the index finger is about 3/16 inch with a taper to the butt, edge and tip
Weight: 14.3 ounces
Depth at the forefinger: 1 3/4 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry.

Man, I'd really love to grip that great looking knife and give it some chops on something. This handle style has me intrigued big time, Gerry. It makes me think of a perfectly fitting soft deerskin glove somehow. This knife is just so well done.
