Ok, I decided to put a new handle on the fighter I've been reposting for months. Here 'tis:

Steel: D2, forged. Blade has a 400 grit hand rubbed finish.

Hardness: RC 59-60

Blade length: 8"

Total length: 13.5"

Blade thickness: 1/4" The top edge is not sharpened.

Handle material: african blackwood

Pin is stainless, and the thong hole tube is stainless. Guard is 416 stainless, also forged.

Price: $500 + $15 shipping

I can take paypal, check, or MO. Please send paypal to 2000pjp at g mail dot com

Sheath isn't made yet, so you can choose between black and brown, tooled or untooled, lefty or righty.

This one shows the old handle, I'm just including it so you can see the entire blade.

Thanks for looking!

Sir. The handle was not the problem. Fantastic work.I would elaborate but this forum is almost run by Iranians.

I can't afford it, and I don't need a fighter, but it IS an amazing knife (and I prefer the blackwood)

Yeah, the iranians thing lost me too. I think the blackwood looks much better, beautiful knife.

The blackwoood gives it a simple plain elegance. I daresay it also feels better in the hand.
There's a tactility and warmth to wood that you just don't feel with artificial materials.

I also loved the old handle. I am a sucker for old looking natural micarta.

I understand some's desire to have wood/stag/bone/ and other natural materials.

I am a fan of the knife with either handle.

Nice to know some of you liked the old handle, but I guess nobody liked it enough to buy it. :-) Hopefully that'll change with the handle material.

I'm still wondering what in the world the Iranians have to do with this?

My apologies for the distraction Mr. Patton, we thought that the Custom Makers Exchange was clearly defined as to what should be posted within. Not all understand it seems.
Both of those knives look great with the different handle configurations, I too prefer the Blackwood by a slight margin.

No apology necessary, but thanks. :) The knife sold a long time ago, but I'm still wondering what the comment about Iranians was all about.
