Hi Bob,

Yes, it's true that you can use solutions to force patinas......in talking with Phil Baldwin, they have varying degrees of durability. Using some commercially available treatments, I didn't have a lot of satisfying results.

I was thinking more from the perspective of carry and use....for a safe queen, it does not likely matter.

BTW, does your knife have a pocket clip?

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Steven, I carry the same knive every day, a T-12CF William Henry that weighs 1.6 oz. As you well know, folders are a new phenomenon for me (last 2-3 years). I've recently been thinking of switching to a pouch belt sheath for two or three of the nicer folders I have as another carry method now and then.

It's kinda funny that you brought this up, because it coincides with something I mentioned in this or another thread about how interesting it will be to watch the copper and brass age from carry use over time, particularly the brass. This one's a hybrid, in my mind, and we'll just have to see. Just too beautiful - and designed and fit well - to pass up the opportunity to find out.

Good to hear from you, and was great seeing you at Solvang.

Bob

ps: Only one of my folders (not these) has a pocket clip, one from 15 years ago. I prefer no pocket clips.
