Hey there everybody! Here’s a new Recurve Hunter with a prominent Harpoon up for your consideration.

Steel is 5/32” x 1 1/2” in 8670 with professional HT at 60/61. Hand sanded to 1200 grit for a fine satin finish. The edge was about .012” before sharpening and it balances just behind the front pin.

Dimensions: 9 5/8” OAL, Tip to Scales 5 1/16”

Beautiful Elk scales make up the handle, accented by red fiber liners. It’s finished to 1200 grit and secured with stainless pins. The handle feels great in my average sized hand with room to spare. The handle is oiled and waxed.

Only $180 to your US door, and of course your satisfaction is my only priority. Paypal, check or MO, and the price includes fees and free shipping in the US.

Thanks so much for looking and please feel free to ask anything here or via PM.

Thanks Grady, I appreciate the kind comment. Here's a sharpness test video, haven't done one for 8 months according to YT. Not gonna win any acting awards with this one! At least my hands are kinda clean.

Now that's cool. That is one curvy sweet blade. Sharp one too. I'm hooked on the black river style still, as well. One of these days I'm going to get one with dark scale like the ironwood I've seen in your work. Is ironwood indigenous to Arizona? I suspect it is. Anyway, the elk harpoon is remarkable. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Grady yes pretty much endemic to the lower Sonoran Desert and often used in Urban Xeriscapes nowadays. Tourists to Mexico can get pretty good carvings, Seri Indians (I presume) are good carvers. I have a sailfish from the beach vendors from decades ago that's pretty cool.
