Recurved Stain Jack Variant (cool pic)

Yikes!

I'm shocked and horrified....and delighted :D

That is one special blade Jerry, who ever got it really is a lucky bastid :D

I am putting this one back to the top becuase I believe, that this SJ is one of the best variants I have ever seen, I sh*t you not.

Damn I like that knife....
:(

Gundy,

I was just reading your post directly above this, when UPS came knocking at my door. I now have the knife in hand.

It's even nicer in person than I expected, and my expectations were pretty high. It's simultaneously lighter than I expected (8.8 ounces)and sturdier than I expected. While it's a lighter duty blade than my Steel Heart, it's still definitely heavy-duty. It clearly is capable of chopping, prying, and various heavy-duty use, as well as cutting like Oscar Wilde's wit.

It looks like it will be just about the perfect knife for general outdoor use. Time will tell. (I hope you all can forgive me that I intended on making this beauty a "user" knife. It's too well designed to resist.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jerry, thank you for making this. Jerry and Marc (Contender), thank you for helping me acquire this. I'll "beat the tar out of it" and make you both proud.

I agree with gundy about the "thumb ramp traction groove" thing. I saw a Mean Street about two or three years ago before I got into Busse knives, I would have bought it if it had a thumb ramp or grooves. I would also have already purchased a SJ if it also had this feature. When doing finer work with smaller knives (yes, a SJ is a smaller knife!)I always place my thumb on the spine. With Angry Wifes Mean Street, my thumb just doesn't rest easy without grooves or a thumb ramp.

Back to the subject at hand...That is a great looking variant, I'm really starting to like the recurve look (and from the chopping I've seen done with khukris, its very functional too).

:)

congrats Evo! I know she has found a good home.......I would be dissapointed if you did not use her, because when you go to sell it, it will be cheaper for me to buy!:D ;)

A beautiful blade, please show some pics of here where she needs to be, in the outdoors...
