Recycled Battle Knife

Not a EDC knife. This is a large one.
I forged this blade from an antique file. Oil quenched and 2X tempered.
Handle salvaged from an old axe.
Guard and rear bolster from misc junkyard steel.
OAL is 15"
Blade is 9.25" long Width at ricasso 1.5" Spine is 5/32"
This does not come with a sheath.

just checking, why is it not an edc blade? too big? :D it will stand up to some hard use correct? How tight is the handle, did you epoxy it? I ask because it is just too sweet to ignore. :)

Thanks guys. I had no ideal this would go so fast. I have posted file bowies before and they always took awhile to sell. Yes it is a nicholson file.
Do you like this one? Its two files.



 
I'm not a particular fan of "file Bowies" although my brother made me one 55 years ago. I like both of these. They have a certain statement of purpose about them.
That second knife is very unique. Do you have a price on it?
 
Sorry,that second knife is called for. I have always liked file knives but a lot of internet knife gurus put them down. I can get twice as much for a blade forged from 1084 than one forged from a file. Same amount of work 1/2 the money. But I like the way they look.
I have not had any issues with performance on any of the ones I have made.
