Here's a redbone comparison; Case from the 1980's and Case from the 1950's!

Many, many gorgeous knives displayed in this thread. Thanks guys. I'm gonna have to find a way to trade something for one of those old red bone Case knives. I don't own any of the older ones.

And here I was thinking about getting a couple of Cases in CV and red bone. :-)

Great knives! Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks for the kind comments. Personally, I think they look rather bland compared to the other knives being posted, especially some of the Case knives and that Titusville. Heck, I'd trade half of my collection for that custom Old Timer in post #8 by Muscrat Man.

Although the Old Timer Classics weren't made that long ago, I supposed they could be considered "vintage" since the company went out of business. There were four knives in that series total. I have a couple of others but can't scan them since they're on display in a museum for the summer.

Best Wishes,
-Bob

Great e.g., of redbone everyone. I really enjoyed this thread. Thanks.

This is a great thread with very good images. But this knife grabbed me for some reason and made me think, "I wish I would have been able to see this bone being jigged".

Kerry, that one got me too. I wish they'd do it like that now!

The best jigging I've seen of late aside from the Bose's (elder and younger) is by P.J. Tomes on some of his pieces. I'm sure there are others but not enough.

Oh yeah, I believe the piece that Waynorth had from Terry Davis (iirc) was incredible (though not red as I recall).

Here's a Ruple gunstock in red bone:

Those older knives, especially the older Case models are excellent examples of great looking red bone!!
