Most of these have been sold so this thread is closed now. Thanks everyone
Actually I wanted to call this wood "Flashy Red Eye Dead Man's Maple Burl". But I figured it might be too long and maybe even confusing.
These blocks were cut from a dusty old burl slab that was stored away and forgotten. It was part of the estate of a burl shop owner who passed away quite a few years ago. The grandson brought in a bunch of the wood and sold it to us last year. This is the slab before I started cutting.
At first, I wasn't even sure it was maple. The wood has a reddish tint and eyes that make it look a bit different from what you expect with maple burl. The figure is a bit flashier as well. This shows a generic piece of maple burl and a piece of this stuff.
If you don't want to use the name I have given this wood, I guess you could just call it "Maple Burl".

When you see pieces you want just post, "I'll take #s ...." and I will mark them sold for you. If you need a block cut in half for scales just let me know.
US shipping is $2.50 for one block or FREE US SHIPPING when you get 2 or more. These come with a No Questions Asked, money back guarantee.
