Here is something I just found out and wanted to share with those of you that also try to scan in knives/sheaths/anything on a flat bed scanner...I use an Epson 1200 scanner that has given me tons of service, excellent machine! Tonight I was finishing up this sheath and making a scan to send to the fellow and as I was scanning, the cloth I lay on top of the sheath, the very end of the cloth wasn't all the way down on to the glass, but was up about an inch or so, I have an incandescent lamp at my desk and the light shining from that was bounced off the glass and rode along the edge of the sheath and handles! Being not the same temperature/colour it shows up as red, making a neat contrast and also providing some illumination along the otherwise dark area, pretty neat I thought! Take a peek...

I guess the illumination is pretty neat, but the sheath is neater.

Thanks Keith, the sheaths are things that have been around a bit, but the neat light got me going! Now I'll have to try with some colour gels in front of the lamp! ohohoh...hold me back! what inspiration that was! ;)
