Red Para 3 (M390) DLT Exclusive

Ordered two, and I'm looking forward to getting them.

From what I've seen, the PM2's the King of Spyderco's. Like it, or not, there are a lot of collectors, that seek out every color, and steel, available, when it comes to the PM2.

I've yet to carry a P3, but feel I should. Now, which one should I try? :D

Should I try one in Maxamet, and watch it patina? Just thinking about sharpening Maxamet, scares the :poop: out of me!
 
I've been using a 52100 para 3 for awhile.. looking forward to M390 in red G10. Took awhile to sell out, but I bet they had a ton to sell.
 
Managed to snag one. I haven't been a huge fan of the Para 3 overall. It feels really tall for its size, and I don't like the lanyard hole being placed where it is. I really need to snag a Para 3 LW because it fixes at least some of that. Gonna give the DLT Para 3 a spin, but it may end up being traded towards one of the KW/BBS/DLT Para 2's shortly.

I don't know if you'll be able to swap a blade between a Para 3 and Para 3 LT. The stats suggest there's a slight difference in the blade stock.

I'm intending to swap the M390 red blade with a 52100 CF blade, however, so I'll have a lightweight stainless version for neck carry and a red, patina'd version for pocket carry.
 
I now have a PM 2 & PM 3 in M390. Not a fan of the red scales so after a few minutes online I found a set of original black scales for both knives for about $25 each.

I'll just leave this here. Maxamet/LW is my current favorite. That said, I have an m390 on the way as well...

Mine should be here in an hour or 2. Really looking forward to it. My Red PM2 is perfect as far as centering, detent, and free dropping.

Edit: Just pulled it out of the mailbox. Great fit and finish, just like its bigger brother. Ridiculously sharp out of the box as well... if I had long enough hair to test, I bet I could whittle one :D

Mine came yesterday. Impressive 1 day shipping even though I'm in the same state as DLT. Thing is a guillotine out of the box, but I'm not complaining.
 
I don't even really like the Para 3, but this is a beautiful thing. Perfectly centered, butter smooth action, and zero blade play right out the box. The red looks way better in person than it does in pictures. Color me impressed.

You know what would go good with the red PM2 and Para 3? A red G10 M390 Delica! No DLC please. :)

I found out the other day they can't do enduras or delicas, since the trainer models of those knives have the red color. (Edit: that info was straight from DLT, replying to someone on their Facebook page, asking about red m390 enduras and delicas during the para 3 drop).
Personally I want to see a red m390 military. I'd never use it cause it would be way too big, but that would complete the military line, and would look good next to it's two smaller brothers.

That's what I thought too, but then we got the red handled St Nick's Delica (w a DLC blade) so I have renewed hope for my red M390 Delica. :)

I think st Nick's got that only because it was dlc. DLT Trading would have to release it with dlc, then be criticized for doing st Nick's like knives.

After saying that, I'm now very happy I'm only a consumer and don't have to think about all that stuff.
