Red river gorge ky pic heavy!!!!!

DUDE! Those are some awesome pics bro! Even with the power-saving setting on, and the limited signal here at the waffle house. I'll have to check these out again when I get home.

Red River Gorge is one of the most beautiful places east of the Mississippi. Thanks for sharing the great pics. They reminded me that it has been too long since I was down there.

Nice pics. I miss the Gorge. That's where I learned to backpack and spent many happy miles going through there. Good stuff.

Beautiful. What a great place to disconnect from society and relax. What gear did you bring?

Been going to the Gorge since the mid 80s. It's my favorite place to backpack in the Midwest. Thanks for the pics. I never tire of seeing it.

-medium alice pack
-rc 4 and izula
-asolo fugitive hiking boots
-bug spray, fly's and nats tried to kill us
-Talchfure fire kit, it worked great, taught my friend how
to make fire
-zebra 12cm pot
-plenty of water 2 gallons
-cell phone, we actually got service
-surefire flashlight, princeton headlamp
-food for 3 days worth

That Auxier Ridge-to-Courthouse Rock hike is my favorite. That's where I take all "Gorge virgins" on their first trip. Rockbridge is another - the only arch with a stream still running through/under it.

The best time for Gorge hiking is in fall/winter, when the leaves drop - then you can really see all the arches, recess caves, and other rock formations throughout the area.

Awesome place and pics! Been there a few times- mostly hiking/camping. Only one climbing trip, and that was the only trip that was "crowded".

Very envious, a beautiful place for sure. I hour for me and I have to take a Surfboard.or a water tanker for the desert.
