red scorpion six evo knife

This guy RS6, must read few Books Strategic Planning Business!!
With that name YOU NO GOING ANYWHERE!

watched the demo video & all i have to say --knife performance not impressive & demostraters could benefit from a lesson in chopping by Mistwalker.

by the way im a fan of Tim Horan's knives also i called him and sent him emails, he makes quite a few knives i would love to own, he's in such demand in fact that he has a 2 yr waiting list. I dont come on here to personally attack anyone but with all the bull going on because i posted a review of the red scorpion six evo that by the way does chop very well and i have had a chance to use makes sense. So regardless its a review all opinions are welcome. all the personal attacks of my character when none of you know anything about my character just proves my theory. I think most of you feel the same about being bashed for posting something controversial. and just for the record since this needs clarification one more time, im not red scorpion six as im sure esav can tell you by looking at the ip address and my account.

I find your question "what the hell is shilling" rather amusing given your fondness for copy/pasting definitions from online dictionaries. As fun as thinly-veiled if a bit ham-handed attempts at condescension are (hey, that WAS fun!), another use of dictionaries taking the world by storm is the discovery of the meaning of words you don't know! Allow me:

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/shill

shill (shl) Slang
n.
One who poses as a satisfied customer or an enthusiastic gambler to dupe bystanders into participating in a swindle.
v. shilled, shill·ing, shills
v.intr.
To act as a shill.
v.tr.
1. To act as a shill for (a deceitful enterprise).
2. To lure (a person) into a swindle.

Shilling is the verb form of this word (above website can be addressed for definition of "verb"), so no need to worry---nobody was accusing you of being an obsolete piece of British currency.

I am not jumping in this fight I just had a comment on WSK knives. Tom Brown (or Dave Beck depending on who you ask) designed the original Wilderness Survival Knife. For whatever reason Tom Brown pushed his design from dealer to dealer for a few years before the WSK (Tracker) design was produced by TOPS. A few custom versions are still floating around. I like the look of the Beck design the best but not willing to spend that much on a knife. I like the look of the RS6 knives too but seems hard to find anyone saying anything good about them. That's always a bad sign. No matter where you go there are haters, I will blow off one or two but when 10 or 15 show up something is wrong. I'll stick with my TOPS Tracker and recently acquired Busse NMSFNO.

People tend not to appreciate people who advertise for a guy that blatantly copies knives and sells them as his own and on top of that lies. Sorry, I dont care if they are good knives. If the maker has no morals, I couldnt care less about his knives. I think many people on bladeforums feel this way. So dont be suprised when you get flak for defending a bad person.

RS6 Custom WSK EVO-lution

MADE IN USA!

THIS IS A CUSTOM KNIFE!

Is this the only model offered that is "not" made in China? $450 is pretty steep, I'll pay that for a good knife but is the Evo that much better than the Tracker?

no i dont work for the guy, but i have met and hung out with the man, as stated before. this all started with a posting of the knife that i had a chance to demo before i bought it. I personally have never had a problem dealing with the man, always on the up and up, but who knows according to you all im a shill. so here is my final reply on this subject. this has went completely childish and im dissapointed in myself for wasting my time talking to people who are to narrow minded to allow a review of a knife from someone, because they have previous history with the maker. That is your issue not mine. attacking the personal character of someone you dont know and who has supported your community, priceless. as far as im concerned you can close this thread. thanks for making me wonder why ive been a member of this forum for this long.

What you originally posted wasn't a review--it was a direct copy-paste from the advertisement page of the maker's website. As this maker has a reputation for inventing new forum members to praise him, this raised questions. Now, given that you joined BF around two years before RS6 showed up, this scenario seems unlikely in your case, but I had to go and find one of his old posts to get his join date to find that out. Also, though likely coincidental, you have a low post count, and a large percentage (currently about 20%) of your posts are about RS6--another thing that looks a lot like a some of the old "Hi, this is the first time I've visited this site but you can trust me and I'm here to tell you how wonderful these knives are!" threads with which many here are familiar. Again, having joined in 2004, I doubt this is true in your case, but the similarity is noticed by the casual observer and probably--in many cases--thrown off as being more of the same.

The final problem---you got defensive a little fast. Many, many, many, many threads exist talking about people's feelings about this guy, which you knew damned well heading into this. Acting the innocent who 'doesn't understand why people are acting like this' diminishes your credibility, not reinforces it. Your best bet would have been to "agree to disagree" and continued talking about why you liked the knife, instead of falling into the same old arguments. You still would have had to deal with people who just plain do not like or trust the man voicing their opinions, but such is life.

You can be as upset as you like, and can obviously leave if you want, but the simple fact is if Cougar Allen (I'm just picking on you because you're well known and have an enormous post-count, Cougar, so don't eat me :D ) created a thread today that said, "You know, I just tried this awesome new design by this guy named Steve Corkum and I think it's cool as hell and I highly recommend it!"...he'd get absolutely dogpiled. Speak the praises of someone who's irritated a lot of people in a public forum, you have to expect you're going to hear about it from them. Pretending you don't know that smacks of contrivance.

If I was going to steal a design I would of atleast stolen a good one. What a weird looking impractical knife.

all this guy does is cuase problems everytime he posts.
everything he has posted has been "reviews" (I use that term extremely loosly) of RS6 knives or him arguing about the RS6 company.

I don't mind weird, but impractical, wtf, and for the weight you could have a scandi, a skinner, a saw and probably still manage a better chopper.

I like heavy impractical knives but they aren't wilderness tools
