After nearly a decade, I once again ordered some knives from Ragweed Forge.
I got my first very own axe, a Wetterlings one from Ragnar in the early 2000’s, and then i got hooked and got a few hatchets, a hawk, Moras, Karesuandos, Wood Jewels, Opinels, A ld Hickory, sharpening supplies and most importantly a lot of very useful advice. Many of my purchases were gifts to friends who were very appreciative of them.
There was a long period when I did not buy anything, neither from this shop, nor from anywhere else because of financial difficulties and having more than enough sharp toys.
In the meantime I was very saddened when a couple of years ago I learned on this Forum about Ragnar’s passing, a long time after it happened.
Last week I was eyeing the selection at Ragweed Forge and was delighted that it still carries many of the dame brands Ragnar used to.
I went ahead and purchased a couple of Moras and Wood Jewels, all timeless classics despite the change in designs.
I am not particularly fond of the extremely fat and sculpted newer handle profiles of the current Wood Jewels, so I asked Redbeard to pick me some slimmer ones, if possible.
He answered right away and promised to pick accordingly.
He followed up and asked me if I was satisfied with what he sent me and if he can do anything else for me.
This exactly the same “above and beyond” type of customer service Ragnar was famous for.
I am very happy that his legacy of maintaining the highest standards is continued by Redbeard and I am sure that this is not only to honor Ragnar but also due to the integrity and personality of Redbeard himself too.
After all, a Friend of Ragnar’s must be a great person on his own too.
I wanted to share my great experience and would like to endorse and recommend Redbeard and Ragweed Forge as one of the best places to get quality gear for great prices and with one of the best customer service you can receive!!!
