1.Yes
2.No, more for camping and other general use, i know hunting knive's may seem to be a bit overkill for that stuff but i like hunting knives so...yah
3. havent quite got around to that...i will be soon though

And folding or fixed blades are both good with me but i think since im looking for ones with blades about 3-4 inches long fixed would be ideal, and weight doesnt matter...

for a fixed blade in the sub $80 range, the ontario rat 3 would be a very good choice, so is the buck woodsman (about $45-$50).

for folding knives, a spyderco manix2, kershaw junkyard dog 2, or buck 110 are great choices.

these are just a few options, there are many other options available.

for straight razors, you can look in antique stores, swap meets or flea markets. just make sure the blades don't have any heavy damage.

i would also recommend that you get a sharpening stone. if you use your knives, eventually they will need to be sharpened. you can get a cheap basic combination stone, find a used (cheap) kitchen knife and practice.

By the way i already have a Buck 110, i love that thing.
And i already have a sharpening stone and i was in the boy scouts for at least 5 years so i know how to sharpen on a stone.
And actually my dad has 2 other stones, one is 800 and the other is 1200

it would have been helpful if you stated that you were in the boy scouts for 5 years and you already have a 110 that you sharpen.

do you like the ontario rat 3 ?

a buck 119u is a great hunting knife, it was one of my first. now im 29 (today) and its still one of my faves. i got it when i was 15, i think. their about $60 bucks.

3. And i'm a teenager (15) so i dont have a job and i dont want my parents going broke so about $30-$80

i know, i like the buck 119, i would get it if i could no dought...

you said it was your dad's idea to get a knife and that the price range is $30-$80, the buck 119 can be had for around $50, what's the problem?

if the buck 119 isn't financially doable, a bucklite max large fixed blade should be a pretty good option around $25-$30.

Its more my mom on the Buck 119 she wouldn't be too happy if i came home with a fixed blade buck knife...
