Rediscovered SAK utility

My EDC SAK is the Settler model from the Pioneer series. No tools, just the large and small blades. :p

Spyderco Endura (serrated) clipped in left front jeans pocket and a Vic Champ in a sheath on my right side belt, Most days. I also seem to have a Gerber Ridge on my keychain.....and a yellow handled Case Stockman in the right front pocket.....weird...
Some days the Case gives way to a Buck 110 belt carried next to the SAK.

Mon - Fri I EDC a small Rambler SAK in one pocket, and some sort of Spyder in the other pocket. On weekends, same thing except the Rambler is replaced with a Super Tinker.

Can't beat those SAKs for price, quality, and acceptability to NKP. To my surprise, I've found that the tweezers and tooth pick get used almost as much as the other implements :)

Elsewhere I've posted about my Vic SAK Huntsman that I saved up for when I was 12 years old. That was over 20 years ago. It still gets regular pocket time, and, with the occasional scissors spring replacement, works like new.

I can still remember going to the store again and again looking at all the different models and trying to decide on which one. This went on awhile since it took some time back then for me to scrape together $25 bucks! My mother had to come to the store with me since they wouldn't sell a knife to a kid. The Huntsman turned out to be a wise choice.

With most SAKs you get all the essential survival tools - the bottle opener and the corkscrew!

My EDC list has now grown. Usually it's a Buck 110 and an old-style Leatherman Wave on my belt, an Uncle Henry LB-7 in my left front pocket, and a Gerber Paraframe II in my wallet pocket (left rear).

The other day, while scoping out my local Wal*Mart's "marked down" display, I saw a couple of small Victorinox boxes sitting there. The one that I left the store with was a Signature Lite II in translucent Ruby. It only cost $13, and I've already had use of the pen, as I never carry one around with me. Definitely, a LED light that can fit into a watch pocket is probably far less intimidating to sheeple than the four D-cell Mag-Lite that I usually rely on.

What better can one add to a keychain? ;)
