Redoubt Bowie from Russ Andrews, MS

Greetings all,

Just in from Russ, a big honkin' bowie that Russ has named "Redoubt". What isn't stag is 1084 / 15N20 damascus, and what is stag is pure palm-filling sweetness.

The blade measures 10 1/2" with an overall length of 15 1/2". The sheath is also by Russ in leather and ostrickh with damascus frog.

I remember walking the show floor at this past Blade with Russ when he picked up a Don Hanson bowie. It was a biggun, but very light and fast. Russ commented that he wanted to try to capture that type of feel in one of his larger blades, and man, did he EVER succeed here. Pics can't tell you how good this one feels.

A fitting moniker. :) Congrats to all!

Man that is superb

Real good looking knife. Its amazeing that when they are done right even the big ones seem light and fast. Thats called proper balance.

Without a doubt, the Redoubt is one great looking bowie! Really would like to experience that one in-hand! Coming to Missouri soon, Roger?? ;) :D

Russ, the Redoubt turned out wonderful. Roger, you have a winner. That stag just looks delicious. Congratulations to you both!! :thumbup:

If you are a serious collector of forged knives and don't own an Andrews knife you are seriously missing out.

Thats a beauty Roger, Russ again knocks one out of the park. Great job. Looks like Russ was holding out on us, when you sold that stag at Corbins last spring. :D
