Redoubt Bowie from Russ Andrews, MS

Thanks for the comments, guys.....and Roger, Thanks for the Pics and
write-up.

I'd wanted to make some changes to the older model, and come up with
a fitting name. The design changes consist of a convex edge with alot
more curve to the edge than previously used, a stronger tip, shorter ricasso,
and my prefered guard/ferrule and cap.
I also wanted the piece to have a naturally, well centered feel, and a fast tip.

Finding a suitable name just seemed unwilling to happen, untill I heard
someone refered to as redoubtable. Like Coop, I had to look it up, and
found it's root, and settled on the name "Redoubt".

Roger, Russ, this is a super lookin bowie!!!

Looks a bit heavy though ;) :D

Great chunk of stag also!
Don, the reason that your knives are so light is that you are still a cheap North Florida redneck grouper fisherman at heart and don't like giving away much of anything.:D In my case, mine are light because I have to keep grinding away the mistakes, but I have been doing this just long enough that I can now turn a Musso bowie into a long, slender fighter as opposed to a bird and trout knife like a few years ago..;)
