This is an approx. 1/4 scale 'Carving hatchet 'made in the "salesman sample" style...The head is forged from hi-carbon steel, hammered, profiled, brushed and etched to give a original mill finish appearance...The handle is made from seasoned hard-rock maple and secured to the head via friction fit and a walnut tension wedge...a beautiful scale replica of the woodworker carving hatchet...Overall length is 4 1/2"...No disappointments.

NOTE: This is NOT a toy and should be handled carefully ...IT WILL CUT!
