For sale is a John Greco Prototype Camp/Survival Fixed-Blade Knife. This knife has never been carried, used, or sharpened. It’s definitely sharpe as I sliced my finger while cleaning it.
I purchased this directly from Mr. Greco many years ago. He told me he was getting ready to retire due to bad arthritis in his hands. He was known for making simple, no nonsense knives from field-tested materials that excelled as working knives that got the job done. This knife is no exception.
From my experience using camp Knives, this is designed to be a good chopper. The weight of the blade and handle design are made to be used in outdoor situations when a dependable knife is required.
The 10” blade is coated with a tough black material. It has a top false edge that runs 4” from the point. The 5 1/2” inch handle has a comfortable grip, and you can securely place your hand at the end of the handle when using it to chop wood aggressively. At its widest point the width of the blade is almost 2”. It comes with an excellent sheath made by Green River Leather Works.
Unfortunately I too, now in my mid 60’s, developed rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, knees, feet, and other places, so my time camping and hiking is almost nonexistent. I really miss it. That is why I’m selling the knife, and at a fair price.
I’m asking a reduced price of $175 shipped in the USA with PayPal fees paid by me. You can email or PM me if you’re interested. Please no trades.
Thanks,
