Hi I'm trying to drill a 3/8" hole to fit a chain ring bolt but everything I have is based around a dremel (drill press, plunger etc...) which has a max size of 1/8". Since I would need them to accurately carve out the hole and shoulder Would anybody know where I could buy one of those?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Not outside of a set. There are carbide bits with 1/8" shanks. Not sure if they go to 3/8".
You might look at drilling a 1/8" hole, and then enlarging it with a grinding bit (not a stone-unless you're drilling metal.)
There are all sorts of 1/8" shank tools available with larger heads.

Dremels don't sustain a lot of torque at speed, and even less at high speed; doesn't take much resistance to the bit to slow it down. A large-diameter drill bit might bog down in the material being drilled, if it's very hard, tough or thick. If the material is lighter (wood, plastic, etc), Dremel does have a sort of 'router' attachment & bits, which can be used to cut out a hole, much as a palm/trim router would be used to cut holes in drywall.

I think David is correct about the dremel not having enough torque for a 3/8" bit.

You could get an inexpensive 3/8" drill... Think HarborFreight.

Fill out your location on your profile. There maybe someone near by who could loan you a drill or help drill it out. Lots of nice poeple on this forum.

Thanks guys :)

I'm based in London and I think the router idea that Obsessed mentioned might be the best solution so I'll do that.

Thanks for your help again!
