For sale is a USA Schrade 6OT 5" clip-blade lockback customized by Dale R. Vincent. It features really nice pieces of water buffalo horn well polished to a beautiful high-gloss luster with mammoth ivory accents and has red liner material between the horn and the brass. It has a blade made from later-vintage Schrade+ stainless (likely 420HC).
First the terms of sale:
1. Price is $65.00CAD including shipping. It will be fully insured and tracked when it is shipped. You will get this knife or your money back! Item can be shipped to all parts of Canada and the continental USA. Extra shipping charges will apply to other locations. I reserve the right to NOT ship (or sell) to countries (or people) I find sketchy. This price is less than I paid for it!
2. I WILL NOT be accepting a return of this item! I'm in BC, Canada and cross-border returns are an expensive and complicated hassle. The knife in the pics is the knife you will get. DO NOT buy this knife unless you are sure you want it!
3. PayPal will be accepted as a safe way for folks who don't know me to pay in which case it will be shipped instantly. I will also accept more traditional methods but the knife will not be shipped until cheques clear etc.
4. I have been active in the Schrade collector forum here for a few years now and I think folks will say I'm an straight-up guy if you ask around. I also have 100% positive feedback as a seller on eBay. People who buy from me are not disappointed! Contact me for more details.
This is a nice looking knife that locks tight with no wobble and has good talk when closing. I am the first owner so I can say with complete confidence that it has never been used, carried or sharpened. The brass has acquired a patina at this point because I haven't been polishing it but I expect it would get shiny and "new"er looking if it's new owner cares to do that. Water Buffalo Horn and Mammoth Ivory? How cool is that?
There are a couple minor blemishes. I have tried to show them well in the close-ups.
1. Some of the red liner material has separated from the brass as if the adhesive was "bubbling" it off or perhaps it was a clamping issue while the adhesive hardened. Most of the knife is fine but near the butt end is where its the worst: see pics. It seems to be stable though.
2. The cut-out for the Old Timer Shield is not absolutely perfect.
3. The blade is double-stamped.
