W.D. Pease fixed blade tanto-style knife. This is a rare piece that has been in my collection since new. I am the original owner. It is in MINT condition. To me, this knife reminds me of the tanto-style knives that made Bob Lum famous (may he rest in peace). It has never been used, sharpened or carried. There is no sheath. It has been stored in my safe in a zippered case (included with the knife).
It measures just a tad less than 11 in overall length and the blade measures just a tad over 6 in length. It is marked with Mr. Peases unique numbering system, Gbc6. I do not believe that he offers this model any longer. And he doesnt make many fixed blade knives this large. I have never seen another one like it.
I dont specifically recall the blade steel, but if I remember correctly it is ATS 34. Notice in the last picture how the tanto-style blade is thicker at the tip. I believe the bolsters are either 410 or 416 stainless. The bolsters are nicely done with 8 stainless steel balls (3 on each side, and 1 each on both the top and bottom) embedded in the bolsters. The handle is made from two (2) beautifully matched slabs of stag, pinned in 5 places. The stag is rich in color, and highly figured. Even the rear portion of the stag is thicker, for a better grip on the knife. This knife feels awesome in-hand, and the fit and finish are perfect. This would be a great addition to any collection.
