Reducing lockbar tension?

When it's half open, or even just pass the detent, the lockbar is pushed slightly outward. It's a small amount but just enough to counter the tension. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it all that well, but give it a try.

It's going to take a lot more bending than the thickness of the ceramic ball to do anything to the tension.

Besides, holding a spring at any point within it's elastic limits isn't going to change a spring at all, regardless of the time spent at that position.

The spring tension doesn't work like that. You would need to bend the lock bar out past the spring load to even start to change the tension. If leaving it sitting half open made a diffence I think it's fair to say it was purely imagined. :p
