Well, if you are like me and you always wanted one of Lee Reeve's wonderful little double bit Nessmuk axes, but then when you got it after a years wait, you were loathe to use it because it is so beautiful, here's your chance to buy a nice user. This one was built in 2004.
As you can see from the photos, this Reeve's axe has been lightly used but certainly not abused. A thumbnail run down the edges glides smoothly, and there are a few light mars to the Osage Orange handle beneath the head. You would expect this on a user. The previous owner wrapped the handle with tape in order to keep a good grip on it in the cold. The tape was removed and you can feel no line of demarcation between the light and dark color. Personally, if I were buying this, I would find a way to rewrap the handle, perhaps with a thin layer of leather or Rawhide to increase the grip for my much larger hands.
The leather sheath has been used and has the typical small cuts you would expect to see on the underside of the flap corresponding with the upper sharp points when the ax is snapped in place. The stitching and rivets are all just as originally received when new. There is a small dent to the snap, but this does not interfere with its ability to lock the flap closed.
