I haven't made any toy purchases for a few months now since becoming "employment challenged" (that's my PC interpretation  ), but this beauty has been on order for over a year so...

I wasn't able to really capture the quality of this axe any way I photographed it, so here are a couple of meat & potatoe shots. The second photo taken with a GB Mini for size comparison.

The fit and finish of this axe are superb. The walnut shaft is beautifully finished and the grinds are perfect. The axe is VERY nicely balanced and much more compact than I had expected. This is a very packable tool. It also came with a quality leather sheath. If anyone has been toying with the idea of getting one of these, put your name on the list. It is well worth the wait.

I have one with an osage handle on order...It will be a year in augest I believe... My wait is almost over!!!!

he is local to me, and he shows up at one of the major gun shows. when he comes to the gun shows, he brings some double-bits that you can buy right there, with not wait time! so, i think i will be saving for one of those (it is in oktober, so i got a few months to save up).

I got mine when he attended the PKA knife show here in Denver...like ten years ago. It still performs like a champ.

I've been using my bocote-hafted version for a month or two and like it a lot. One of the guys in the axe forum was recently showing one off with a spectacular curly maple handle. Really extraordinary.

I haven't had a chance to weigh the axe and sheath. Anyone done that?

I ordered mine last August too. In February Lee said maybe September or October. A long wait but I'm sure it will be worth it.
