First is the "orange book" - Joseph Rodgers & Sons Cutlers - An Antique Catalog Reprint -- this is one extremely rare and hard to find book. It is a very nice clothbound hardback, about 8 3/4" x 11 1/4", with 113 pages of very high quality knife image plates from an old Joseph Rodgers catalog -- almost all of the patterns shown have "Her Majesty" on the tangs, so the cuts are from before 1900, probably before 1890. Next is Joseph Rodgers & Sons: The Samuel Setian Collection Exhibition Knives by Abel Domenech -- it's a superb reference on the history of Joseph Rodgers and their manufacturing techniques (with a number of great historical pictures) -- and it is also the best picture book I know of covering the best of the best of Joseph Rodgers exhibition knives (both fixed and folding knives). This covers one of the finest collections of Joseph Rodgers knives in the world. The book is a clothbound hardback - measuring 9" x 11 1/2" - with 300 pages of goodness -- this is a first edition (copyright 1999) in extremely clean condition (including the dustcover). This is The Rodgers Exhibition and Ceremonial Knives... "catalog" showing the collection of Rodgers exhibition knives that Jim Parker was able to snag from the Rodgers factory when it shut down. Has a six page forward by J. Bruce Voyles - giving an excellent illustrated history of Joseph Rodgers. It's a very high quality 8 1/2" x 11" softback book on heavy paper stock, with full high quality images throughout - 79 pages long, of which 71 are worth the money (there are a few non Rodgers items in this, but most of these are exhibition knives from other Sheffield makers (including several original folding knife/pistols) -- so it's all good).
