I have my Ferric Chloride for re-etching
I have my Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish

However I dont have my sandpaper yet to get out some of the skuffs and whatnot. I have read that I want to start at a very high grit like 1000 or so and then work my way down to 800 and then 600 (which ever finish looks the best I suppose?)

So I started looking up sandpapers. Holy cow... tons of them and then different rating scales too. P600 grit and then regular 600 grit (is actually finer)... and then there are different materials (silica vs aluminum oxide for example) Soo... can someone please help me choose the proper sandpapers by brand and specific name? Even 3m has just so many its information overload.

so here was a really informative re-etching guide for damascus that talked about 600 grit sandpaper

Then here I read that Aluminum Oxide works better on damascus

So is there someone here who knows about this stuff and can teach me a thing or three?
Thanks
