Refinishing my Basic 9

Klean Strip KS-3 Premium Stripper- a thick paste/gel type remover. Found it at the local Home Depot for ~$6.

I was wondering how you finished the area around the handle? Did you tape off the Resiprene or just carefully apply the stripper up to it? I would imagine that it would not be good to get any on the handle.
 
Yes, that would be my concern also. I wonder what effect it would have if you got some stripper on the handle or if it came in contact with the epoxy? I may try this on my CG Satin Jack.

I didn't remove the coating around the handle- there's still about 1/8" of coating on the blade. I didn't have a brush available, so I used some paper towel for an applicator, and wiped off any remover that got on the handle. I didn't even think to mask off the front of the handle. :o
