To Whom it may concern:

I recently became a Gold Member again so I could sale a knife. After talking with a mod, I discovered that bumping a thread no longer moves it to the top and you have to wait at least two weeks to make a new thread. I reviewed the rules and I see where it states the two week waiting period for a new thread, but I didn't see where it says bumping no longer moves the thread to the top. Had I known this I would not have purchased the Gold membership. I would like to respectfully ask for a full refund of my Gold membership. Sorry for making this public, but I was directed by another mod to post on here to resolve this issue.

Best regards,

Jeremy

There are benefits to having a Gold membership other than the ability to sell on the exchange.

Enjoy those benefits and the feeling of supporting the greatest site on the interwebs!, and consider it $25 well spent.

:D

I'm confused. You purchased a Gold membership to sell something....completed at least one sale and now you want a refund because you were unaware of a forum rule?

Sorry to correct you, Jason, but you forgot to add this to the end of your post:

Had I known that you can only bring your thread to the top twice a month because bumping doesn't do it I would have never signed up or the membership. It should say that bumping does not affect thread location in the rules. I can't believe this cost money to sale items and yet I'm more restricted than a free site that I sale firearm related stuff. Please, please help me understand what the benefit is. I'm even okay with the mod pro rating my membership for the time I have been on.

For what it's worth, although posting in your thread doesn't bump it to the top, it does put it on the front page (bladeforums.com) since that lists threads across the forum by last post date/time.

I was informed by a mod that bumping your thread does nothing to move it. This was after I waited 72 hours to bump it to the top like is was when I was a gold member before. I wasn't aware they change that and I didn't see it anywhere in the rules that they did. So when I bumped it after 72 hours nothing happen.

No I understand that, but after 14 days your thread would be lost unless someone did a specific search for the item you're selling. That must really suck for the knife makers that have a unique item that a search would not find.

Soooo, you're upset because you can't keep your item at the top of the Exchange.

As suggested, put a link in your sig to your sale.

And what you're looking for is here, pay particular attention to Section 2, items 6 and 8....

And as I understand from a previous post, you've already made a sale, so I think you've gotten your money's worth back, and you still have a years worth of Gold member benefits.

Enjoy the forum....

Like others have said, put your "for sale" in your signature. People really do pay attention to them.

Would someone refer me to the person in charge of refunds. I can't believe I had to post it in a thread as suggested by another mod.

I don't see anything about how the bumping changed? Could you please show me that? Again, I was a gold member before, bumping every 72 hours would bring you to the top so people that may have missed your thread would see it and to be fair to others selling you could only bump once very 72 hours. I couldn't find that anywhere that rule was changed. Had I known that I would not have spent $25 for such a restricted membership.

As stated before, when you bump your sales thread it does not change its position in the knife makers exchange forum. However it does put it on the front page that everyone sees whenever they sign on to BF. That is how I saw this thread.

I think the problem is that you posted a new item in an old thread. You could have posted the knife in its own separate thread on the 10th, and it would be closer to the first sale page. Also, you just have to wait 14 days before you relist the SAME item, so it looks like you would have been fine making another sale thread for the knife.

I can't find anything about bumping in the rules, so no help there.

... seriously, dude?

Send Spark a PM and let him know, he is the only one that can refund you.
You've been he for 4 years already, the rule change was widely announced and discussed for months before it took place. The reason was the rampant abuse of constant bumping for everyone. You are not obligated to support the site, but that is also what the membership is for (after all that is why most of us are here). Best of luck.
