Thought I would start a thread on worked over old stuff.
Here ia a Marshall Wells Hardware Co. Duluth Minnesota Double bit axe.
Circa 1893-1915 Oldie but Goodie.....
 
This one is a Skeeter Vaughn Pipe Hawk. It is not mine I made the handle for a friend of mine. Cocobolo handle with Ebony mouth piece.
Skeeter Vaughn was an actor/thrower of hawks knives Born 1922 Died 1989

Dusty - very nice work!!! I love that ax in your first post. That hawk is sure a nice one.
 
Nice Work Dusty One, That late 1800's Double Bit Is a Beauty, Your Work on the Handle Is Unreal. And that Pipe Hawk Is a "True Work Of Art" Thank's for sharing the picture's,
 
Thanks for the kind words glad you like them. Here is another I showed before. Its an old French trade axe head I got from antique store. Made a handle and had a friends Dad make the sheath. She's a heavy one. There are some markings on the head but cant make them out.

Here is a old head I picked up. Rehandled it last winter. Has a makers mark looks like a horseshoe with an A in it with something below cant make out.
Have used it a few times works good.
If anyone knows anything about that makers mark Please let me know.

Picked up a single bit axe for six bucks. Marked Hand BBB Made
Found that it Binghams Best Brand Cleveland Ohio 1841-1961
There is also a small f2 on the underside and # 32 on the back side.
Going to need good cleaning and rehandle. Fun...

Dusty - now I'm jealous. I need another project right now. Oh well, I guess I'll just make some more walking sticks.
 
The head cleaned up pretty good for the condition that it was in. Now to fit a good handle and a little edge work should be ready to use..

It cleaned up Real Nice Dusty One, Nice Job ! You and Teague are doing all these Beautiful Refurbishing Project's and I still aint got off my Duff and started none of mine, The one I really need to get on is my Double Bit Old Time Plumb, I'd like to go with a 24" Handle and reprofile the Head to a one side Thick Convex Edge & the other side a Thin Skinning Edge like a Double Bit Nessmuk Axe,
 
Snake Dr sounds like you have a good project you have to get going.
Here is the Binghams Best with 33" handle. Will try her out this weekend.
Picked up another Montgomery Wards single bit for $4.50 hardly used...

Snake - I just finished two double bit axes, a regular ax, a splitting maul, all my hammers and some additional walking sticks. And, I've been making survival bracelets out of paracord. I've made almost 50 of them using a nice cobra weave, etc.

It's all fun. I hope you'll show us some of your projects soon.

Thought I would throw this one in the mix.
A Branton Brend collaboration I ended up putting on some Zebra wood
scales with some decorative pins. Makes the handle thicker which I like.
They are very nice hawks...
