Anyone know how Reeve handles issues like this when it comes to long discontinued blades. I feel like I’m going to be sick. Hah.

Contact them. At one point they had some blades for warranty work, but they may be gone. Hope not.

From what I remember, if they have one, it will be S35VN. Expect the worst, hope for the best. Good luck on finding out.

Aww man, sorry to see this happen. Did it appear out of the blue (metaphorically, not literally - it obviously starts at the blue thumbstud) or did something impact the blade or thumbstud? Doesn't look like it from the pics, but just asking if there was any influence on the blade to make that happen.

Just appeared yesterday. I do use this knife but don’t abuse it by any means. Never dropped it banged it nothing. Took it out to post a picture yesterday and saw it. At first I thought it was a piece of hair stuck on the thumb stud from my haircut but no such luck.

Should be S30V according to the time line...S35VN was only introduced in 2011 for the 21. Regular was phased out in 2008.

These may be newer made replacement blades, that they produced for warranty repairs. They had talked of doing so, but I don't know if the project ever happened.

Sent an email with pictures to CRK last night. Expecting to here so sorry. Here’s a coupon for 10% off apparel! Maybe I’ll be surprised. I will let
You all know what they say.

From my understanding, it wouldn't be something so terrible. If they don't have a replacement blade available, they will replace it with a comparable model that's still in production. I don't know what, if any, kind of allowance is made due to rising secondary market values. But either way, I trust CRK to treat you right.

In that case, while not having a BG-42 Regular, you'd have a factory S35VN Regular...doesn't perhaps take all the sting out of it, but that'd be an even rarer specimen...just from a collectible point of view perhaps. No idea what the market value would be or if that's even of interest to the OP, just musing.

Honestly
I don’t know how I feel. I’m super bummed. But I guess if I could keep the bg42 and they were willing to give a s35vn. I supposed that would be ok. What I really like about the regular is the bull nose blade shape. I’d want that as a replace meant. Just really disappointed.

Absolutely! That made me buy my only two Sebenzas back in the late '90s. The handle shape as well. To me, it just comes together as a masterpiece of knife/product design. While the later models are "similar" ... meh. Not going to apologize for that either. The rest of my CRKs - save for a stray small Classic MM with leather inlay I picked up a year or so ago - are all fixed blades.

Time will tell, but if you are going to get a replacement blade , it should be the regular you are used to. The other blades really don't fit. Very doubtful it will be BG-42, but maybe S30V or s35vn. I am just hoping they can replace it. I am sure you have grown very attached to it.
As to the s35vn blade being variable-rare does not always mean more valuable, and I doubt it would be in this case.
If CRK can't help you might be able to find someone to make you a blade.

What really bothers me is I just got this back from a spa treatment a month or so ago. Will suck to be with out it for another 8-10 weeks. But I guess if that’s the case it means they took care of me.0

What did they do during the spa treatment
