Here is a copy of the email I got from the Kabar rep., just for you guys info.

Thank you for your interest in the KA-BAR/Becker products.

We are working diligently to have product available for sale by September of this year. We plan to offer items BK2, BK3, BK7, BK9 and BK11.

Please check back with our website often as we will post all important updates there.

Regards,

Tara

Great! I've always had good luck with that stuff. I'd heard a few more reports than I was comfortable with about the steel the old Beckers were made of chipping, etc., but 1095 I trust quite a bit.

Thanks for the update on Beckers.

Can't wait til these New Neckers hit the market.

Any pictures anywhere?

bear, if you look REAL close, he's just getting ready to pull them out of the bag...

I did see that picture but didn't recognize any of them as previous models. The two next to the neck knife look like the more practical user friendly models.

That's what I was thinking, I don't quite get the others. Somehow they don't quite seem like the old Becker stuff.

Great video

The tanto necker seems a bit silly and I think even Ethan thinks its a bit silly, but they loaded it with all the power toys (tank wrench, bottle opener - surprised there isn't a line cutter on it :O :O ). I'm sure it will find a market. Don't really care for the san mai one either.

However, I do appreciate the improvements they are trying to incorporate into Ethan's original designs. 1095 steel is a great choice. I think it is awesome that this fine quality steel is getting such renewed interest across the board among major manufacturers!

That Sept. date is way faster than I would have anticipated based on the announcement of the Becker/Kabar partnership early this year. Big, I mean H U G E, kudos to Kabar for pulling off that kind of time line.

Is this the re-birth of a Great American knife company? I think it is a good sign indeed!

the san mai necker will be the bomb, i need to get one of these , ok guys who will be handling these, can we do a group purchase of something. it looks real cool.

Add me to that list, those look kick azz.

I wouldn't mind having (from the left of the pic) knives 1,2,6,8 if these are the new models to be produced.

As a slight aside, there were some other neat blades from the other manufacturers in those videos. Even TOPS had some neat stuff. They had one little necker that was held into its sheath with strong magnets (gives you that 'uh-oh' feeling, but still cool). The sheath had a signal mirror on the back and a sharpening stone, and a ferrocium rod on the side. Pretty neat package.

The new Vic folders are neat, especially the plain edge version of the OHT coming out. I actually really liked the single blade, one-hand, PE liner-lock they're going to have, looks like a thin and handy EDC.

I wasn't too enthused about most everything else I saw.
