Thanks, Lenny. I hold it in my fingers, without any glowes, so naturally it did not get too hot. And to cool it again I hold it between my palms.

Flat grinding the blade and putting a more pointy tip on it makes it a MUCH better knife. I am not sure why Spyderco just doesn't do this from the factory. Those are the only two complaints that I have with the D-4.
