Regular Karambit or Super Karambit?

If you have someone to play with then its all good :D

The kerambit is all about the whole system rather than just "the moves" its the same with all edged weapon systems i suppose but people dont always gell them together too well.

Il dig out some of the stuff that will be of use and drop you PM in a few days.

EZ- drop me a line with your addy and il send you DVD. Its defo one of the better ones out there

I received my Combat Karambit this afternoon. Fit and finish seems good and it is sharp. I'm impressed so far. I have noticed that to have the wave feature work reiliably, I have to draw the knife in a slightly more specific manner than my Endura wave. Getting used to reaching for the ring with my index finger may take some getting used to. I'm sure after I get a few hundered repetitions under my belt, I won't think about it anymore.

Glad you like it, there good blades for sure.

I find twisting it out to the side a bit as you grab it wraps the pocket around the blade and helps give a good solid deploy.

That DVD will be on its way to you tomorrow, for some reason iv had problems making a coppy that worked

You're absolutely right about the twisting motion. If the wave were slightly more pronounced, it would open a bit easier. Now I just have to decide which Emerson to buy next!

Thanks again for the DVD! I'll let you know when it arrives.

try a Karambit in the woods for making shavings for fire starting. You will NEVER go back to any other blade style.

They are actually a surprisingly handy bushcraft knife but they do have some glaring limitations.

Well, I had a Combat Karambit, but I changed it for a Super, because I couldn't close my hand completely around the Combat, because the hole was too small for my finger.

If you have smaller hands however, the Combat Karambit will be perfect.

I carry my combat karambit every day. I own about 7 karambits, but my EKI is my absolute favorite. I put my Spyderco back in its box. :)

I carry tip up IWB and once you get the hang of it, the wave works great. I agree with Haze, turning it outwards is the way to go. I'm pretty good with the karambit, but it's definitely a knife you want to train with before you choose to carry it. If you're good with a conventional knife, chances are you can get good with a karambit.

I find the hole on the Emerson Combat slightly smaller than on other karambits (e.g., the 5.11 Master CUB), but this is an advantage as it makes it easier to control.
