for ME personally, I like how the 21 looks, curves and blade shape. I've never handled a regular before, and I assume that they are great, that's why I voted "who cares"...
I prefer the Regular. Right know the poll is about 1/3 Regular 1/3 21 and 1/3 "Don't Care". What this really tells me is that Chris Reeve should not be making one or the other, but should be offering both.
I finally got my hands on a used small regular sebenza and I can say for sure now which model I prefer. From an ergonomic and comfort point of view I favor the 21 by a wide margin. Aesthetically its a bit closer but I still like 21 better for its clean, streamlined look. I do like how much more easily the regular opens up and I can easily thumbflick it open if I prefer to do so. Both the 21 and regular are equally smooth to open though. I voted for who cares option since I can live with either model and be very happy .
I own both large and small versions of these two great knives and so from that perspective I say it depends on the size and which one gets the most pocket time. I am dress casual during the week and always have my small 21 in my pocket as the large version of either knife is just too much for my office environment. I chose the small 21 because of the extra thickness of the handles at the 'pinky' end. The the small regular is just a bit narrow here for my XL hand size.
On the weekend I reach for the Large Regular and the Large 21 with about the same frequency. Often times my small 21 is still in my opposite pocket along with the Large next door.
I like the regular better, but the 21 closes very easy with the large cut out for your thumb. If I line up all my regular annuals with the blades open, it doesn't get any better than that in the looks department.
