Regular Trizact belts?

I'm unable to get the Trizact Gator belts here in Japan, but I can get regular Trizacts in the size I need. They are on the expensive side, and would come to a bit more than twice what I pay for the ceramic belts I like. So I'm wondering, do they last twice as long? And what is the lowest grit that would be worth my while?

The only thing I have found the regular Trizact belts to be worth the price for are scratch refinement above 600 grit, so the A16 and A6. If you can not get the Gator belts, you might look for the Norton Norax belts, they are similar and work almost as well as the Gators.

I only use the trizacts for finish work, usually a45, a30 and a16. They last a lot longer than the ceramic belts of that grit. The lower grits are kinda useless for stock removal.

Thanks for the replies. Are they as aggressive as a regular belt in the higher grits? For example, could I jump from a 120 grit regular belt to the A45 Trizact?

Yes you can, on my surface grinder I jump from 60g ceramic to a45. On my grinder I go to 120 then a45. They are more aggressive on higher grits than regular ceramic and last longer.
