Can't believe I hadn't heard of Chris Reeve until 2 months ago and now I own two of his $300+ knives (large regular and small classic) and plan to buy a wood handled small!

I haven't received the classic yet so only have experience with the regular. I'm curious which model is better received. Based on photos the classic seems simpler and easier on the fingers. What's your experience?

There are changes to the slabs but I can only tell a very slight difference.

I really like the more agressive look of the classic blade!

Either way ~ you get a superb knife!

Welcome to the forum and to the world of Chris Reeve Sebenzas, you are starting out on the FAST track alright!
I like both styles pretty well, the Classic has a more pronounced guard and some like that feel better, I have both and a wood inlay small Sebenza and love them all, you can't really go wrong!

Both are great. My first was the standard Sebenza - Small, great knife. I have the Classic 2000 and find the handle on the large to be a very good fit for heavy tasks, the notch in the slab has a hold comfort benefit. The blade design is very good.

Welcome to the forum and WOW i guess you really do have the bug. I have a small plain and i just love it, my hope is to get a small inlay for relaxed wear.

Welcome SliceandHook! You'll find many different opinions about the Sebenza here. Everyone seems to like different things about both styles. I myself started with a small decorated one, then moved onto a large wood one, now I carry a large classic 2000 and like it the best. The standard large sebbie's have a wide blade; very good for skinning and cleaning. The classics I feel are a great all-around workhorse. Some may say too large, but the knife feels just right in my hands and the ergonomic handle factor of the classic is much nicer in hand as well. Check em all out; only you can decide what's feels best to you. One thing... you won't go wrong with a Sebenza!

In quality, function, fit, finish, durability, materials and performance they are equal. No difference whatsoever.

The Classic, however is more pleasing to my eye which is why I prefer that model. Your senses will tell you which one to get. Trust them.
