Recommendation? Rehabing an old PAL RH36, info needed...

As a collector, I have the full RH series of knives and I wonder why people are changing the edge grind to fit the "grind of the week"? Both of my 36's are maintained on a Lansky device and a leather strop-block. The first 36 was my father's EDC in WWII (combat engineers) and I can shave with it. Why are you messing with the original grinds?

P.S.: I nearly threw up when I saw that Ka-Bar was now owned by Cutco. What's next? Ford owned by Great Wall?
 
The grinds of that era knives are thick and don't cut like the thin grinds of today. I'm glad you like that style grind. It's a good example of that history. DM
