Rehandling a Cold Steel Kukri?

this is what i have, got it about 10 yrs ago now. its had no handle for about 5 years give or take. so... its about time :)

anyone put a new handle on one? i'm looking for inspiration from you guys since you do such nice work on the hawks.
 
Ive put handles on other cold steel knives.
If you drill out the brass rivet that is what holds the rubber handle on. It should slide off after you do that.

The rest is up to you. Go study some examples from the Himalayan Imports forum and you will be better off.

looks like you also have the complete tang. both my HI and cold steel have "rat tail" tangs so it takes more fitting to make them work right.
 
search on youtube for "rehandle knife". there are a couple videos showing how to wrap the rat tang in homemade epoxy and linen, creating a micarta. then you simply sand it to shape.
