I am selling a one of a kind knife, probably never to be made exactly like this again.
Besides its cool look, there are two very unique things about it:
1) It is the first knife ever to carry my new stamp logo, of the orienteering arrow used in the Off The Map (OTM) Initials.
2) It is the first full tang stick tang that I have sold (potentially).
The blade is a classic shape, patterned after the vernable Mora #1. The handle however, has been made a touch longer, for a much more comfortable and secure grip.
The butt cap I had custom machined at a local machine shop. It is a solid piece of brass, that has a hidden nut/threads hidden inside the handle area (again it is machined from a solid piece. No silver soldering/brazing of a separate nut). It was then threaded onto the stick tang which makes and extremely durable yet light weight knife.
The custom butt plate is compressing layers of reindeer antler (selected for its density), leather, and curly birch. The handle then was finished with tung oil.
The blade is 3/32” O1. Sharpened at 12.5 degres per side. The blade finish is left as it came out of heat treat.
This knife has been lightly, lightly used by me. It has been passed over a 4000 grit waterstone a couple of times during its use. So, it won’t come minty fresh new, but I barely consider it used.
I am looking to get $225 for this one, shipping and insured anywhere CONUS. I will take a MO, wait for a check, or do Paypal (but please add 3% or pay the fees, however that works). Let’s stick to CONUS for now, and if nothing works out, we will talk about international shipping.
Knife includes two sheaths. One is a traditional nordic style neck sheath. The second is a more traditional belt sheath. Because of the thinness and sharpness of this knife, both sheaths are wood lined.
Thanks for looking,
B
