I wasn't in the market to buy when Josh first released these and a member offered me 2.5 so I jumped at it to try them out. I love Josh's work.
It carries great and cuts like a laser, but the 2.5 is a bit small for my paws. I haven't held a 3.0 but the 3.5 feels great to me.

Here's a companion / comparison shot of the Ember 3.0 next to the neck knife from the late Darrel Ralph, (S90V), which I have been wearing for the last several years...two awesome knives which make a great tandem. One smooth, one chunky.

How does the weight compare between those two? I think the 2.5 that I have might be the lightest fixed blade I've ever handled.

My 2.5" "Rounder" from Jerry Halfrich with stag scales splits the difference at 2 3/8 oz. Jerry sent it with a beautiful sheath from Paul Long, and a terrible kydex sheath of his own making.

Thanks, brother. Jerry's been a good friend for many years. Essentially retired now...but he could sure build a fine knife...mostly single blade traditionals and straight knives. He was never really into multi-blades for the most part.

Thanks, Josh. That's the knife that I mentioned to you which Jerry credits me with helping him design. I really think he's overstating it... He told me the other day that he never made another in the form of a fixed blade.
