As most, if not all of you, know…leatherwork is done in between my day job. That said, I will be working on this run as I have time. There are still things that need to be done around the house during this cooler weather.
So I have dedicated my weekend mornings (and possibly evenings) as well as weekday evenings to continue on the Q sheaths and get them into your hands as soon as possible. :)

These have many steps and my current wet form oven will only fit one sheath at a time. I know that you all are very patient, but I just wanted to give you some insight into my work/home/leatherwork life.

This morning I got all of the rest of parts cut out and will most likely punch the holes tonight, but for the afternoon, I have a honey-do list.

I’m really stoked for these and looking to sit back down at the bench after dinner.

Alright…I’ve got most all of the pre-work done. Gonna have a bite to eat and I should be onto glue-up next this afternoon.

I wait at least 24 hours after glue-up before wet forming…so no more work until tomorrow once everything is glued up!

They are coming along nicely!

Got the glue-up done last night, edges sanded this morning. I’ll be punching the stitch holes today and the holes for the hardware. Wet forming will be after work in the evenings this week. :)
 
Every time I log into BF to update this thread…I get sidetracked…(turn head away from screen) squirrel! ….where was I? Oh ya…

So I’ve got most of the wet forming done (2 left) but have started on the stitching and the belt loops are all but completed with edge burnishing! Edges on the sheath and loops have all been pre-burnished. Woohoo!!


I generally give the sheaths a week to fully dry out so we are currently looking at a ship date around July 21, however fingers crossed it may be a little sooner. :)

So…just finished up 15 hrs of hand stitching…
All of the sheaths are stitch up!

It will now be burnishing all edges and then sealing and a little buff. Next will be assembly and photos for you all!

I’m shooting to have these all in the mail by Friday. So I’ll be contacting everyone individually by DM for their payment info so I can send invoices.

This sheath has had the most thought I’ve put into a modular sheath. I like the way it turned out.

Sounds like not so much fun, but sounds very rewarding!

Remember to ship mine 1st ok? Just kidding Andy 🤣
 
Woohoo!!! All Q sheaths are finished up and ready for packing up for the PO!

I’m not gonna post a photo yet, as always, I like that the new owners can post their new sheath first! That’s half the fun!
