I e-mailed REKAT about this but got no response so I'll try again here:

Are there any REKAT dealers in the NYC Tri-state area?

I'd like to see before I buy if possible.

Its best to call Blue Ridge Knives they handle the east coast.
Ask for Marvin (540) 783-6143

You may try Paragon Sports in NYC. They have the largest and most expensive collection in the city. From conventional folders to fix blade customs. If I recall correctly I may have seen a few REKATS in their glass shelves display. All cutlery is at top dollar just FYI.

Just a note regarding Paragon Sports -- Although they are a high priced store, it has been their long-standing policy to meet/beat any advertised price. In fact, last time we were there, they had a brass plaque proudly announcing this policy right by the front door.

Now, it's been quite a while since we've been there so I can't say if the policy is still in effect or whether it has been modified at all. A couple of years ago, however, my wife went there with an online ad for Motorola TalkAbout radios at about 30% less than Paragon's price. After consultation & some phone calls (possibly to check the validity of the ad?), they agreed to sell at the Net dealer' price.

I may be goin' to hell in a bucket, Babe, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride.

I was at Paragon on Tuesday and I can tell you for certain that they DO NOT have REKAT Carnivours. They did, however, have a Crawford Custom Carnivour for $450. Beautiful knife.

I don't know if they have any other REKATs.

Yes, they do not carry REKAT knives. Also, regarding their "competitive" price policy, I talked one of the senior sales reps at the knife counter and he told me that they only match the prices to dealers in NYC. I thought it was a load of sh*t, and I told him that I would just order the knife from the internet. He seemd not to care. Who the hell is going to buy a Spyderco Military for suggested retail of almost $200 when they know they can get it on the net for almost half the price? I guess the policy varies from dept. to dept.

Once upon a very long time ago (2 yrs?), I popped up for a look at the knives while shopping for hiking shoes- Good selection of knives- they even had an Emerson CQC-6! Go figure. It's nice to be able to handle a knife before buying it- but at a 100% price markup- I'll take my chances online or wait to get my hands on one at a show. I hate to bug a salesman for an hour & walk away-

I actually remember that. I almost hought it. They were selling it for around $650. AT the time, I though the mark up was too high. I should've bought it.

Ronald R.,
The Emerson opened sooooooo nice. Just think, if you'd bought it then, you could easily pass it on now for a decent profit.
I couldn't affort it then or now, so I'm not haunted by such thoughts
