The .550 width accentuates the saw back so much more than thinner stock. It just gives it, like, a 3-D appearance that you just don't appreciate otherwise. I don't know, it's hard to describe, it definitely keeps me stairing at it.

seriously though, that does beg the question..........how fat can we push the knife envelope.......could we push it all the way to a 1" spine, full convex?
