Hey guys, I've owned this knife since Dan Certo made it in 2006. It is his M9 Raptor model, and is hand-signed by the maker with a steel engraving pen on the spine of the handle, and marked "2006." This is a really awesome-looking blade. Green canvas micarta with red liners, and a well-executed mean-looking blade.
This knife is entirely hand-built by Daniel Certo. For those of you unfamiliar with his work, it doesn't come up for sale that much on the secondary market because most folks keep their Relentless Knives. The handle is extremely ergonomic. I can't say if the blade is high-strength 5160 alloy carbon steel, or S30V, but either way, it's great steel. I bought the knife years ago, and can't remember which I got.
Dan Certo is well-known for his beefy ergonomic fixed blades, built to withstand anything at all. The knives are meant to be used and be indestructible, so don't expect art-knife standard exacting fit and finish, it's just not his style. Dan became better known when he was tapped by Hollywood to produce the knife for the Punisher movie, a knife he still sells on his website. A 2007 catalog of his knives, including this model (halfway down the page) can be seen here: http://www.relentlessknives.com/catalog2007.html
His current website is here: http://www.relentlessknives.com
Since I don't know which blade steel this one has, I'm going to assume it has the 5160 high strength alloy carbon steel, since that is the cheaper one. I'm going to offer the knife at $250, which is less than the maker's price, with no wait-time or shipping costs.
This knife is dead mint, and has never been used or carried. It comes with the original sheath. Again, he builds each knife totally by hand, no laser cut-outs, so it is truly a custom handmade knife.
