relocation questions- WA, NV, AZ, CA

the one thing about the plae we are looking at in fallon is that it is set up as ag land, with water rights and irrigation. I'm fromt he southwest, as is jessica, and while I'm more used to the "green on one side of the fence, desert on the other" - she is familiar with it.
 
I'm buying the same thing: Ag land with water rights. In fact, I just happened to run in to a fellow who used to lease the land to raise onions, garlic, hay/alfalfa, etc. So I know where I can get first-hand advice when I want to plant something.
