I need to lube up one of my knives and I don't have that fancy CRK grease. All I have is a can of Rem-oil. Will that work as a pivot lubricant?

I almost feel like CRK folders are the only knives the CRK grease would actually be better than some oil like wd40, rem or mineral oil. Oil is a better all around lubricant for my Spydies and my other production folders from what I saw. Like for example my Spyderco Endura feels a bit sticky with the CRK grease in the pivot while my Sebenza feels buttery smooth and glides open with the grease. So I only grease up my Sebenza and oil everything else.

I believe Rem oil is a Mineral based oil with Teflon added. It is a decent general purpose oil that would work fine on knives. I'm not sure I would want it around any knives preparing food though. Straight mineral oil would be better for food prep IMO.

I use rem-oil on all my knives, but only on the pivit and locks. I use straight mineral oil on the blades in case I use them for food prep.

It's what microtech recommends (in small doses) for their OTF autos.
