Hello all- I finally bought a bottle of Rem oil and used it this morning for the first time. There is a warning on the bottle,"Prolonged exposure may cause brain damage..", "Do not breathe vapors". It's the last one that gets me, if you're not supposed to inhale it then why do they make it smell so damn good ??

If you think Rem-Oil smells good, you oughtta catch a wiff of Tuf-Glide or Marine Tuf-Cloth

Hey Chang, if you like gasoline, you'll love the smell of used construction equipment - diesel fumes and hydraulic oil. They should bottle that stuff and make cologne...Eau de Caterpillar

I'm with Chang on that too, I mean the gas thing. I also love the smell of rubber, as in car tires and rubber bands (but new, of course). Years ago when my father was buying a new car my sister and I crawled around the floor of the dealer sniffing the car tires !!
Whenever we get a new box of rubberbands at my office I open the box and stick my nose into the bands and inhale deeply for minutes at a time. Donald.

Take a trip to the walmart and buy some Dexus gun oil wipes. Not only are they pretty good for protecting blades under most condintions (nothing relly extreme, worked good on ATS55 for swimming in the ocean though) They smell like ****. Wipe your balde down with one of them every time you use the rem oil and you should stop your habit of sniffing the rem oil. That or you'll be using it as an air freshener

I too like the smell of rem oil. I don't know what it is, but I also like the smell of Triflow and gasoline.

Then again, I must be strange because I like the taste of Pepto Bismol.

OK,

I'll see your Rem Oil and up you a skunk. I love the smell of skunks!!! Back when I was in junior high, I used to use it as a cover scent when I bowhunted. Every time I smell it, it instantly takes me back to that time. Weird huh?
I guess I should be glad I didn't use dung for a cover scent.

Permanent black markers, anyone?

Jim! Oh Man......You and my old hunting buddy would get along just fine. The evening his young dog caught it's first hog, it also caught a skunk! (Glad I stayed home that night)

Talk about imprinting! Everytime after that when he saw a dead skunk in the road, he'd roll the windows down and sniff!
He'd be reliving the moment, and I'd be retching!

Oh yea....Breakfree smells pretty cool.

I don't mind said scents, but the wife always complains when I break out the Tuf-Cloth.
She calls it "The Stinky Stuff".

Oh boy, the wife wants to add her .02.

Here it is:

1.The old gas (from the '70's) smelled good.
The new stuff is no good though.
(Hmmm, I wonder if she's got an octane preference?)
2.Tires give her a headache.
(Parts stores too!!)
3.She likes most marker smells.
4.And last but not least...What's up with the rubber band thing???

I guess that she's a selective freak!!

Personally I've always prefered break-free clp for it's captivating scent..............but rem-oil does have it's merits

WD-40 all the way! I can't get enough of that smell. I can identify it at 300 yards. OK, maybe a bit of an exageration. A bit.

My father, by-the-way is a huge Hoppes fan. Mostly because it means someone is cleaning a gun.
