Rem oil smells nice

Kin-
With a cold, you can't smell the Hoppes, etc- that's where the tea comes in.
Bringing Tuff Cloths (another interesting smell) to the NYC show?
Cheers,
Mike

Nothing like the smell of black powder being fired out of a musket.

You all are sick, sick, sick, no wonder I can't manage to stay away from the Blade Forums.

Too bad deer don't like Rem Oil. BTW...I was watching American Shooter yesterday and they talked about this new oil.

This new gun oil from Outers is called Scent Out and has no scent.

I like the scent of Marvel Lubricating Oil so much I always put too much of it on my folders. I know it's not too good for the purpose, but...

Rem oil isn't too bad......

Tuf Cloth smells the best though....

Break Free has a nasty aroma to it!

OK, you guys are phreaking my out too, however...it's time to confess:

- 32:1 pre-mix exhaust first thing in the morning (Dirtbike Exhaust When Camping.)

- Byrons 10% Nitro Fuel (RC Nitro Truck Exhaust.)

- Rem Oil

- Hoppes

Ok,

I have one more lurid confession to make. I love the smell of the sewer system in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. When I was in junior high, my buddies and I used to enter the sewers with our pellet guns and hunt rats. It would really freak people out when we would pop up through a grate along their front yard. We also would go luging through the tunnels on our sleds in the winter time. That was really cool. You could get going pretty fast by propelling yourself with your hands on the side of the tunnels.
I hope this thread ends soon.

Slinking back to the sewer whelst I came from,

Jim McCullough

I LOVE the smell of Hoppe's #9 - No, I don't use it to clean my rifles (there is much better stuff), but I do use it to clean my knife blades

Shooter's choice doesn't do it for me (and sweet's stinks), but Hoppes - now there is a smell. I USE Shooters choice on my firearms, but clean my knives with Hoppes

Jackyl,
You really took me back talking about 2 stroke pre-mix for dirt bikes. We used to use Blendzall bean oil in ours just because of the cool smell. I used to ride in circles just so I could smell my bike

My favorite knife smell is Marine Tuf-Cloth. It has a pungent odor and one has to develop a liking for it, sort of like Gorganzola cheese.

Ah... There are so many nice smells which we're not supposed to sniff.

Anyone else like the smell of the smoke from ferrocium rods?

I'm with Jackyl on this one. Ahhh, Pre-mix exhaust fumes. I too did quite a bit of dirt bike riding in my youth, and I have the scars to prove it.

LMAO

That explains it we are all drain bamaged - and it materializes as an affection for knives.

Just have to love the smell of a nice new marine tough cloth. Almost brings a tear to the eye to lie back with it spread out over my face..ahhhh.

And its a little zesty, but WD40 has it's place in my heart. And its under pressure so I can spray it around like an air freshner. Anyone keep one of these babies in their bathroom?

You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

I'm with you Tuff Cloth/Tuff Glide guys.... I have love that smell!

I think that's part of the reason I like my SIFU so much... because it's big enough to hold a whole load of that "Tuff" smell!

Sheesh... I can't believe we've all just admitted to this - I think we collectively need to get out more!

Yuck, Hoppes #9 smells gross. It's got this sort of smell that sinks into my stomach and makes me want to hurl. Not a bad lubricant and rust preventative though. It works really well for my Remington 870 and it did wonders for my pocket knives as well. I just can't stand the smell, but at least it isn't a strong smell.

I think the thing about liking the smell of gasoline and oils is fairly common (but don't sniff it intentionally, it's not healthy for you). My parents are from Taiwan, and there were probably some US military bases around there. When they were kids, whenever someone saw a US Army jeep, they would tell all the other kids and they would all run after the jeep to smell the gasoline.
