Remember these knives N2S posted?

What a thing, Kismet. Is there any interest in reproducing one of those?

here is another shot to compare next to the Cutco and Three Rams Brand steel knife Foshan 3 at the top....gotta keep it simple and for that reason is it could very well bring in new customers that are not khukuri nuts like some of us are... but they would love to have a cleaver that was a H.I product due to the reputation and special for the makers mark of the Kami

but what are those reddish, irregular shaped things hanging in the photos?

They are decorative roots(?) attached to the handle shown in the top picture). They are certainly not desicated monkeys, snakes, or anything like that.

The photos were sent to me via via traditional print and snail mail.

That's what I was thinking of- the top one, with or without a point. I could use this and pass it on to my sons. It would be rare- used for generations, and special.

 Thank you, sir. I wonder if they are purely decorative, or if they might be aromatic (as sassafrass roots are) or have some bug-repellent property. One thing is sure- they are in very good company with those knives. :)

My interests are to get H.I. to make a copy of a traditional design. True, you may never see one in Nepal, but it at least "looks foreign"..... ...Pendentive

I've given up on the HI cleaver. Perhaps Yvsa will succeed in getting across a traditional blade from somewhere and somewhen that will meet Pen's criteria, and then my own for utility.

I've purchased a 2lb, full tang Chinese Cleaver for 44 dollars including shipping. I don't really want more Chinese goods in my house, though, which is sad, even if they could do this particular instrument cheaper than HI. (if it falls apart on me it really wasn't cheaper, was it? ) Cheaper isn't always my criteria for tools of pride and affection that accompany myself and family through Life.

When wondering what else HI could do, I've always considered large kitchen tools. I've asked myself what else could HI sell that would appeal to a wider market?

Pendentive is for an exotic market, and there is much merit to the idea that knife folks will pay for semi-custom knives of this type. The Kerambit is an example. I can't see HI going wrong with these ventures. Collectors will want them.

I just hope history and adventure will some day meet utility in a new HI project.

i would buy an HI cleaver.
I think they would make an outstanding cleaver.
One with an AK bowie handle and a standard cleaver blade with fullers.
Nice!
